Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar will grow its reach in Boston, adding a location in Fort Point in the next few months, more than a year and a half after plans were first announced. The Back Bay restaurant known for its cotton candy, tequila, and tacos will expand into 253 Summer St. with a targeted opening date later this summer or early on in the fall.

The new location along the Fort Point Channel will feature an expanded menu of Lolita’s hallmark tacos and street food, along with a wide selection of tequilas. The new space is twice the size of the original location in Back Bay (271 Dartmouth St.), which will remain open.

Lolita has been around since 2010 and serves tacos filled with blackened fish, chicken, veggies and more. There are also street food-inspired dishes like charred corn with cotija cheese and spices, four different versions of guacamole, and feasts for two of flank steak, pork belly carnitas, or Mexican fried chicken. This new Lolita location will be situated down the street from Papagayo, another restaurant and tequila bar.
