This 1977 Volkswagen Scirocco was acquired by the seller in 2018, and in 2020 it underwent a cosmetic refurbishment that included rust repairs, fitting replacement floor panels, repainting the exterior in metallic green, and replacing weather seals, lenses, and headliner. Adjustable coilover suspension, 15″ Ronal Turbo wheels, and a pop-up sunroof have also been installed, and mechanical repairs since 2020 included rebuilding the alternator and replacing the axles, brake master cylinder and booster, radiator, shift linkage bushings, and catalytic converter. The car is powered by a 1.6-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle and is also equipped with a pop-up sunroof. This Scirocco is now offered at no reserve with refurbishment records, a service manual, spare parts, and a clean Kentucky title in the seller’s name.

Rust repairs were performed and the floors were replaced before the car was refinished in Porsche Colibri Green Metallic according to the seller, who states that the bumpers were re-chromed as well.  The gaskets for the windshield and rear window were replaced along with the turn signal lenses, headlights, and hatch struts. The antenna has not been reinstalled and the hole is uncovered, and a pop-up sunroof was installed under prior ownership.

Ronal Turbo 15” wheels have visible corrosion and are wrapped with 205/50 Hankook Ventus V2 Concept 2 tires that have 2018 date codes, and a factory 13″ alloy wheel with a spare tire are stored in the cargo area. The front brake hoses and lines were replaced in August 2020 along with the master cylinder and brake booster, and adjustable coilover suspension was installed in October 2020.

The sliders and slider bushings for the front buckets were replaced along with the carpet pad, trunk liner, headliner, blower motor, and horn button. Woodgrain trim accents the dashboard, and the car is equipped with Scirocco-branded door sill trim and a cargo-area cover. A replacement carpet kit is included in the sale. The radio has been removed and is not included in the sale, the lower dashboard area is sagging, there are missing trim items, the glove box does not latch, and the driver’s seat bolster is torn.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 100-mph speedometer and a tachometer with inset gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer is inoperative and shows 177k miles, and total mileage is unknown.

The fuel-injected 1.6L inline-four features CIS fuel injection and was factory rated at 78 horsepower and 77 lb-ft of torque. A valve adjustment was performed in November 2020, at which time the radiator, thermostat fan switch, and valve cover gasket were replaced. The alternator was rebuilt in October 2020, and the seller states that the exhaust manifold was also replaced. The air conditioning compressor belt has been removed.

Power is sent to the front wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle, and the axle assemblies were replaced in October 2020. The shift linkage bushings were replaced in October 2022, at which time the catalytic converter was also replaced and a custom exhaust system was fabricated.
