31-Years-Owned 1984 Alpine A310 V6 Pack GT

This 1984 Alpine A310 was imported to the United States by Centennial Renault and was later acquired by its current owner in 1990. The car was refinished in the mid-1990s in white over tan upholstery, and power comes from a mid-mounted 2.7-liter PRV V6 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes widened Pack GT bodywork, staggered-width 15″ wheels, power windows, Jaeger instrumentation, and an aftermarket exhaust. The shift linkage has been modified with Heim joints, an oversize radiator has been fitted, and recent service consisted of repairing rust on a control arm, bleeding the brakes, and replacing the water pump, battery, and clutch cylinders. This Alpine A310 is now offered by the seller on behalf of its owner with a clean Carfax report and a clean Illinois title.

The A310 features fiberglass bodywork over a steel-tube backbone chassis, and the Pack GT bodywork includes enlarged wheel-arch flares, side skirts, a front lip, and a rear spoiler. The car is said to have been resprayed in pearlescent white in the mid-1990s due to cracking paintwork.

Staggered-width 15″ wheels are mounted with Yokohama tires that measure 205/50 up front and 285/40 out back. The right-rear lower control arm had rusted through and was repaired with a patch in mid-2021, after which it was refinished. The seller also notes that the brake pedal has a soft feel, and the system has been bled.

The interior features bolstered seats with tan cloth upholstery, which extends to the rear jump seats, door panels, and dashboard. Matching carpeting covers the floors and the rear transmission tunnel. The seller indicates that the headliner was replaced in 2010 and the passenger-door window moves more slowly than the door glass on the driver side.

A three-spoke steering wheel frames orange-letter Jaeger instrumentation that includes a 270-km/h speedometer, a 9k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 80k kilometers (~50k miles), approximately 70k of which have been added by the current owner.

The 2.7-liter V6 was jointly developed by Peugeot, Renault, and Volvo and is mounted longitudinally in the rear of the vehicle. Output of the PRV engine was rated at 148 horsepower, which is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. An aftermarket exhaust, oversize radiator, and ignition system have been installed, and the seller also states that the shift linkage has been fitted with Heim joints. Other service has included replacing the clutch cylinders as well as the water pump and the battery.

The passenger-side door jamb bears former Formula 1 driver Jean Alesi’s signature along with the number 97. The seller states that the car was signed by Alesi at the 1997 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal. A clear preservation material applied to the area is said to have discolored over the years.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration activity in Illinois beginning in 1986 and ending in 2011. A door-jamb label indicates that Centennial Renault imported the vehicle to the United States.
