This Pontiac Fiero got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT was purchased new by the current owner and underwent cosmetic and mechanical modifications including installing a Cadillac 4.9-liter V8 mated to a five-speed manual transaxle, fitting a vented hood and decklid, and repainting the car in red. Equipment includes pop-up headlights, removable glass roof panels, a rear wing, 17″ wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, bucket seats upholstered in gray cloth, air conditioning, power accessories, and a CD stereo. This Fiero GT is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the owner with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and New Hampshire registration.
The car was finished from the factory in black and was repainted red. Equipment includes pop-up headlights, a vented front hood and rear deck lid, removable glass roof panels, body-color side window inserts, a rear wing, and quadruple exhaust outlets.
Polished 17″ ASA wheels are mounted with Yokohama AVS ES100 tires that measure 215/45 in the front and 235/45 at the rear, and the seller suggests replacement due to age. Stopping power is provided by red calipers over drilled and slotted rotors. The seller notes the emergency brake does not function.
The bucket seats are upholstered in gray cloth, while carbon-look trim accents the instrument cluster and center stack. Interior features include air conditioning, power accessories, a body-color shift knob, a proximity alarm system, a CD stereo, and a footwell-mounted subwoofer.
A four-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and centrally located gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. A voltmeter and oil pressure gauge are mounted in the center stack, and an analog clock and air-fuel ratio gauge are mounted on the A-pillar. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 4,500 miles and was reportedly reset after the engine swap. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement Cadillac-sourced 4.9-liter V8 is said to have been installed in 1991 and features port fuel injection and an aftermarket exhaust system. Oil and coolant services were performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag five-speed manual transaxle.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Florida, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. There is a gap in entries between February 1991 and April 2010.
The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. The car is being offered on a transferable New Hampshire registration.
