A house is damaged in northeast Houston after fire damage overnight.

Local authorities said it was around 11:00 p.m. Sunday night when the Houston Fire Department responded to a house fire and found flames and smoke coming from new construction new build. The home did endure heavy damage to the new construction home.

They put the fire out quickly and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A church in the 5th Ward community received a Texas Historical Marker and was honored and celebrated this past weekend.
