Paradise Watersports is Waikiki’s premiere parasailing destination hanging on to a FIVE STAR RATING. No other Parasailing company has a better track record or higher safety rating in Waikiki. The Captain we set sail with had twelve years of experience with no injuries under his belt and along side with his second mate, took great care of us.

From beginning to end, it only took about an hour. At the check-in (signing of liability paperwork and safety briefings) we received wristbands as to what package we had. There are a few packages with more detailed information on the main site that answers questions you may have before undertaking this adventure.

After check-in, which took all about 5 minutes MAX, we had a quick debriefing of “do’s and don’ts” in making our way to the boat, boarding, and while on the boat – this took maybe one minute. As soon as we boarded, the engines started, and we were off. Yes, it was that quick! We arrived there at 4:30 P.M. (16:30) and on the sea by 4:45 P.M. (16:45). Quickest pace for any tour/adventure we have done in the islands; we enjoyed this aspect of it and at the same time we did not feel rushed. It was fluid, smooth, safe, and fast.

The best view you can get of Waikiki/Honolulu! It was perfect: the sun was to our backs, shining on the beautiful coastline, illuminating the cityscape, and luscious, green, display of Diamond Head, which is rare. We HIGHLY recommend going right before the sunset! We picked the latest reservation time, which was at 5pm (17:00). It’s very romantic! Up here, it was peaceful and awe-inspiring. Mary and I took a few moments and just enjoyed the view without a word to each other at some points.

The STRESS FACE: unfortunately, my GoPole’s wrist wrap was lost during one of our adventures making me move ever so delicate during this entire experience while holding on to it for dear life.

I’d like to mention here that this is an establishment that still allows you to bring your own GoPro and GoPole (i.e. selfie stick) which is honestly a make-it or break-it for us. There are few places we have visited where these items are not allowed during the activity which is only infuriating because in this modern day and age, everyone has a camera and wants to document it for years to come. Paradise Watersports is a true friend in allowing such possessions…even hundreds of feet up in the air. However, don’t worry if you forgot your camera: the photo package allows your adventure to be captured, for a bit of extra cash. In the video/photo package they offer you a GoPro to record while the crew members take pictures of you in action! Afterward, a SD card is given to you immediately upon returning from the air. DON’T FORGET TO ASK YOUR CAPTAIN THAT YOU WANT TO DIP! (which we are doing here) – Completely worth it!

In and out before the Sunset! As stated before, the time we went was perfect: It wasn’t busy, it wasn’t too hot, and the lighting for pictures was superb! If you ever wanted to feel the rush of Skydiving, Parasailing is as close as you can get. We went approximately 700 feet high with the max being 1000 feet. Trust us, 700 feet is more than enough to get a taste of the view and heights. We felt safe the entire time; it was very secure. A scary/fun aspect of it all was you can swing like a regular swing at a playground so feel like a kid again in this ‘swing for adults’. Overall, an amazing experience! HUGE shout out to the Captain, His Second mate, and Tommy at Paradise Watersports for being so friendly and making our first parasailing experience an epic one!
