American actress Scarlett Johansson opted for a nude floor length Elie Saab gown, whereas Gucci was the designer of choice smart black suits for both Twilight actor Robert Pattinson and American actor James Franco.

Other gowns worn on the night included a pink satin Viktor & Rolf dress worn by Golden Globe winner Natalie Portman, a hot pink one shouldered Lanvin gown worn by Julianne Moore and an emerald green long Versace gown worn by Angelina Jolie.
