An A-list ceremony like the 2020 Golden Globes calls for celebrities to don their most over-the-top, puff-sleeved, long-trained and embellished ensembles.

However, in doing so, they often require a team of helpers to aid them in walking, sitting and even just posing in their red carpet attire.

Who can forget when Sophie Turner, for example, fixed BFF Maisie Williams’ train at the 2017 Golden Globes or Lady Gaga’s four assistants – holding umbrellas – to carry the train of her pink parachute dress by Brandon Maxwell at the 2019 Met Gala?

During Sunday night’s 2020 Golden Globes ceremony, it was actor Chris Evans who came to the rescue to help actress Scarlett Johansson manoeuvre around the train of her red Vera Wang dress.

In a clip from the occasion, Evans can be seen picking up the train of the gown after noticing the Marriage Story star struggling to move it out of the way after they presented an award together.

The actors are firm friends, having starred in several Avengers films together – Evans in his role as Captain America and Johansson as Black Widow.

Several of Evans' fans on Twitter couldn’t help but appreciate the actor’s kind gesture.

‘Such a pure hearted wholesome friendship [sic],’ commented one user.

‘What a chivalrous gentleman he is,’ another added.

This isn’t the first time Evans has shown his sartorial superhero ways, supporting women in couture wherever they go.

At the Academy Awards last year, the star leapt up from his seat to help Regina King with the train of her white Oscar de la Renta dress as she headed up some tricky stairs to the stage to accept her Best Supporting Actress gong for her role in If Beale Street Could Talk.

Struggling with the hem of the dress, Evans quickly got up and gave the actress his arm as she navigated the steps towards the stage, narrowly avoiding a Jennifer Lawrence-esque Oscar fall.

Evans is a real-life hero.
