So much potential. Initial rumors were that season 3 of PD would take on a new medium, that of the comic book. Sadly all that came from these rumors was a 14 page comic book. Instead of focusing on one story, two 'cases' are shown. One of a headless escaped convict while the other provided back story for the "shiny shoes killer" (Chuck's killer) The first of the two ends with an ominous "to be continued" cliffhanger. On the cover, several unrelated characters and scenes are shown. None of the scenes and almost all the characters (apart from Emerson, Ned and Chuck of course) are seen in the comic. This review may be more complaining than reviewing, but that isn't to mean that I didn't like this short comic. After the extremely un satisfying ending of the series, anything that can provide a fresh look at the world of the pie maker is a gift.

This is an amazing book. I am wondering if the reason his father is not in his life, did Ned get his powers from his Dad? Did his dad bring Ned back at some point and could not be around him for fear of touching him again and killing him permanently? He seemed supportive but out of the picture. So it leave one to wonder and the author did not continue the books?

No puedo negarlo, me gustó.

Loved the writing, hated the art.
As it was written by Bryan Fuller, the dialogue feels true to the show (especially with Emerson Cod; I could hear his sassy voice whilst reading). The art on the other hand sucks. It's typical comic book style which doesn't fit the atmosphere at all and the characters look nothing like themselves. Nowhere near to the visuals from the tv series.
But on the up side, the comic does include a recipe for Ned's plum pie, which was a nice touch. Will have to try making it.

I had so much hope for this comic book. The cancellation of Pushing Daisies broke my heart. I really really loved that show.

But, even though the realesed pages are really few, the story, partially anticipated by Bryan Fuller himself, is awesome and adherent to the style of the tv show.

I think it's a must read for Pushing Daisies fans.
