TERENCE STAMP
B/w movie still of Stamp from the waist up and bare-chested, signed "Best
Wishes"
Photograph signed "Best wishes/Terence Stamp". 8x10 overall, 7½x8¼
image, one surface. Stamp, born in Stepney, London, England in 1939, is
an English actor with over 60 TV shows and movies to his credit as of this
biography. A staple of British cinema in the 1960s and with credits including
the title role in Peter Ustinov's adaptation of Herman Melville's Billy
Budd (1962), Stamp was known as much for his off-screen romances as his
acting. After a promising start, he spent several decades in obscurity and
mostly forgettable films, mostly as a menacing bad guy, before popping up as
world-weary transsexual Bernadette in the surprise hit The Adventures of
Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994). He continues to make movies in ever
more diverse roles. Comic book fans probably know Stamp best from his role as
General Zod in Superman (1979) and Superman II (1980)... and then,
in a complete reversal of roles, for voicing Superman's father (and the man who
imprisoned Zod in the Phantom Zone) Jor-El in Smallville (2003-2008).
Lightly toned, stained and creased. Light dents and tears in right edge. Paper
loss at bottom edge. Otherwise in fine condition.
