I’m so proud of our team in Japan conceptualizing, designing, executing and bringing to life Fender’s first flagship store in the world. Legendary marketing and creative Ippei Takahashi and his team join Fender in creating the “F is for Fender” fashion and music festival line to be part the Launch of FENDER FLAGSHIP TOKYO. Super excited - all in Japanese and some exceptional digital shots of the store concept and design! Congratulations Takahashi-san!

Sounds great but Japan will need to become MUCH more competitive on income tax rates to attract and most importantly RETAIN these “nomads” considering national and local tax can quickly be as high as 56% of global income not to mention a 10% consumption tax and virtually zero tax saving benefits on charitable donations. Lots of work to be done here.

Opening Summer 2023 here in Tokyo, Japan; the flagship store is designed to give experienced and aspiring players a completely new progressive and contemporary shopping experience. The Fender Flagship store is being designed in partnership with Klein Dytham Architecture. Located in the heart of the Harajuku-Omotesando district, a luxury high-end fashion and travel destination, ‘Fender Flagship Tokyo’ will occupy a massive retail space spanning over 4-floors and 16,000sqft in “The Ice Cubes,” one of the most prominent commercial retail buildings in Harajuku.
