Description
No Reserve Classics is proud to present to you our 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Restomod! Originally Built in Hamtramck, Michigan, this 1968 Dodge Charger R/T lived the majority of its life in the sunny dry state of California. With such iconic body lines, it is hard not to recognize it from its famous debut in such movies as “The Fast and the Furious”, the tv show “Bullitt”, and of course ”The Dukes of Hazzard.” The Dodge Charger has had a major impact in the automotive world, with its hideaway headlights, long and smooth body lines, and the 440cid Six Pack Big Block Mopar Motor. This is one Mopar that we believe changed not only the movie world, but is still one of the hottest and toughest muscle cars still around today!
The iconic body lines on this Charger are straight and with a mirror-like reflection coming off the black paint. It has been detailed, wet-sanded, buffed, compounded, and polished to showcase what you see here today. The hideaway headlight doors still function correctly and behind them are our Restomodit LED headlight kits. This Charger also stands tall fitted with a set of custom 18”/20” Staggered US Mags wheels wrapped in Continental Tires. As we turn our attention to the rear end you will notice the R/T badge with a chrome dual exhaust setup. Letting your ears know, this isn't just any 440! Truly a classic that can be distinguished from the rest.
Opening the enormous hood, a Built 440ci Six Pack Mopar Motor is the heartbeat of this Charger. With 3 2 barrel carburetors, an Edelbrock intake manifold, Edelbrock aluminum heads, and a built motor, this Charger will definitely get out of its own way! Paired up with a 727 Torqueflite Automatic Transmission, getting all the power down to the ground is made easy with a simple press of the accelerator! Whether you are turning into a parking spot or taking turns on a nimble curvy road course, power steering and power brakes will assist you in being in total control!
On the interior, it has been restored from top to bottom. With receipts showing all components that have been replaced from the carpets to even the gauges, that have been all sent out and restored by hand. Retrofitted with E-Body High Bucket seats, this Mopar has undergone a 2-tone interior on the seating both front and back, to give it a more modern, updated feel. A JVC radio has been installed to give you a modern way to enjoy your cruises. And not only does it allow you to not only play AM/FM and CD's but also allows you to plug in any device via a 3.5mm jack. It has 2 rear deck speakers that have a good amount of bass. This charger also has power windows and a working heater fan.
Solid and Stout! The majority of this Mopar has lived its life in the summer dry state of California. The underbody of this Mopar has been fully coated with a rust preventive as well as a coat of Line-X to prevent rock chips. Stepping back it resembles a toy car appearance with only an eye-catching massive 3” true dual exhaust and long tube headers, that are connected to the correctly painted Turquoise Chrysler 440ci motor. The suspension has been tuned to daily drive. Upfront, with special torque bars, and adjustable QA1 Shocks, tuning the front suspension is a breeze. Especially in the corners, you will notice the front Hellwig front sway bar keeping everything in line. In the rear, a custom-made 4-link rear end pulls this car together. Not only can you adjust the height with the coilovers, but you can also tune the dampness of the shock with a simple turn of a dial. This Protouring setup is extremely important if you plan on driving this Mopar hard. With all the suspension options, you are able to really dial in the suspension to your style with ease into any driving situation you might incur!
