Suri’s Self-Possessed Style
Suri doesn’t care that her friend wore the exact same prairie-print oxford to their playdate, confident as she is that she will handily triumph later in People.com’s “Who Wore It Best?” poll.
Suri cocoons in a furry brown coat, allowing for just a patch of her breezy, transparent skirt to peek out above her shiny sandals. When *Extra’*s Renee Bargh asked Katie Holmes who had a bigger shoe collection, Holmes said, “I hope that she always has more shoes. That’s the right thing.”
Another walk on the pier, another mermaid-esque print dress. Plus, she drinks SmartWater!
When asked who was a more dedicated fashionista—Katie or Suri—Holmes insisted it was “a mutual love.”
More than anyone, Suri understands that style is about movement. How better to exhibit flowing lines than by getting one’s prance on at the Museum of Modern Art?

Offering a spin on the traditional toddler silhouette, Suri layers pink and purple prints—the markers of a joyous, freewheeling childhood—with chunky flower-topped wedges. “She wears what she wants,” Holmes told Access Hollywood in October 2009. “She loves sparkly things. She loves bright colors. She has an idea of what she wants to wear every day. So do I, so we go with it.”
Though Suri’s red rain boots are not of the ladybug variety that Peter Brant gushed over (and that Harry Brant owns in gray), they look equally stylish when paired with a bright-pink umbrella.
Asked whether she has any items of clothing that Suri will inherit, Holmes told Extra, “Oh, yes. Oftentimes, I buy clothes with her in mind, thinking maybe I’ll wear this once or twice, but this is going to look so great on her when she’s, like, 25.”
A rare instance of crisp, dapper Suri! We miss her maximalist approach here.
