Diggs to work with Advanced Musical Theatre Performance class

The University of Missouri has a new Artist in Residence -- and he's a high-profile Hollywood and Broadway actor -- Taye Diggs.The Mizzou College of Arts and Science announced Diggs will be coming to Columbia as the first Artist in Residence who is a Broadway, television, and film actor and published author.Diggs will spend May at Mizzou and will work with students enrolled in classes for the university's new minor in musical theater, specifically the Advanced Musical Theater Performance Class. He'll also visit with students in various settings at the university.Diggs's credentials are extensive, with appearances in musicals "Rent," "Chicago," and "Hedwig and the Angry Itch." He was featured in movies including "How Stella Got Her Groove Back," "House on Haunted Hill," and has been in TV shows including "Ally McBeal," "Will & Grace," "Grey's Anatomy," "Private Practice," and "Empire."Established in 2019, Mizzou's Artist in Residence Program seeks to invite established and emerging artists to Columbia to support and celebrate the arts while working to cultivate creativity.
