It's time to look a little deeper at this 1962 Mercury Comet. It has a true classic charm, but there have also been the right investments. Gleaming chrome, a fresh interior, and well-integrated upgrades (like a Bluetooth radio) keep this vintage Mercury a quality cruiser.
This Comet has a great classic look. The bodywork is quite straight, and the white paint has a good gloss to show off the well-presented curves. The hint of tailfin was a great design of the jet age that we love on a lot of classics. But Mercury took this theme a step further. After all, the sweeping side trim looks like the vapor trail of a fighter jet, and the tail lights are inspired by its afterburners. Even the dual front fender ornament are like the crosshairs for getting missile lock. There's also more great brightwork with the chrome bumpers, clean grille, clear headlights/bezels, and upgraded polished wheels.
A crisp white continues inside, but now it's just used for a tasteful accenting against a sharp blue style. You can really tell there was a solid investment on the seats, door panels, and the fundamentals to have this looking fresh and premium. The seat material feels so premium that we believe it ... A crisp white continues inside, but now it's just used for a tasteful accenting against a sharp blue style. You can really tell there was a solid investment on the seats, door panels, and the fundamentals to have this looking fresh and premium. The seat material feels so premium that we believe it could be leather or at least ultraleather. Some of the carpeting is even still wrapped in plastic. And power locks are a very cool feature to have. The steering wheel and gauges have that true vintage look to make sure you get the right vintage feel. But while the radio looks like a 1960s piece, it lights up to show its really an modern AM/FM digital tuner with USB and Bluetooth. So you get the best in modern driving music in this classic Comet.
The engine bay is home to another one of those great classic details. It's the unmistakable sight of the long block of a 170 inline-six. We all know there's plenty of room to fit a big V8 under here, but it's already pretty nice as is. There was a good investment to get this motor to a show-ready level of tidy, and quite frankly, people are going to marvel because they just don't see these too often. It's easy to get to the show, too, with a motor like this that loves to run. A smooth shifting automatic transmission and modern cruising tires are all part of a great driving package.
This Mercury offers a terrific mix of vintage and investments to deliver an all-around appealing cruising classic. So at a price like this, you know you need to hurry on this deal. Call today!!!
