Jenna Bush Hager, the daughter of former president George W. Bush and Laura Bush, welcomed the latest member of the extended Bush family this summer, with the birth of her third child with husband Henry Hager.

"Welcome to the world my darling Henry Harold “Hal” Hager!" she wrote in an Instagram post announcing the birth. "Hal came into the world Friday, August 2, 2019 at 9:02am and our life has never been sweeter."

Bush Hager explained the baby boy's name to People. "He is named Henry after many on his father’s side including his dear dad and his paternal grandfather," she said. "Harold comes from my maternal grandfather, Pa, who I loved dearly and was unable to keep a son long enough to name."

Here are all of the details that we know so far about the new baby and the family he will grown up in.

Jenna married Henry Hager in 2008

Though former first lady Laura Bush reportedly didn't think the couple were built to last, Jenna proved her mother wrong by marrying her then-boyfriend of three years, Henry Hager. The couple met while Hager was serving on George W. Bush's 2004 re-election campaign, and while Henry reportedly had a girlfriend at the time, the chemistry was evident.

Henry proposed in late 2007 by taking Jenna on a 4 a.m. hike in Acadia National Park, and asking her to marry him as they looked out at the sunrise over a mountain peak.

She and her husband both come from political families

Henry is the son of former lieutenant governor of Virginia John H. Hager. Jenna is, famously, the daughter of former President George W. Bush and Laura Bush, and the fraternal twin sister of Barbara Pierce Bush Coyne.

They have two daughters and a son

In addition to their new arrival, Jenna and Henry have two girls — Margaret Laura (known to her family as Mila), 6, and Poppy Louise, 3.

After Hal's birth, Bush Hager shared a set of sweet pictures of the girls meeting their little brother for the first time at the hospital, writing "And our world made even sweeter when our girls met their baby brother."

Jenna announced her third pregnancy shortly after taking over as co-host of Today

It was only a few weeks after Bush Hager took over the co-hosting slot on the fourth hour of Today from departing Kathie Lee Gifford in April that she surprised her new co-hosts with the announcement that she was expecting a baby boy.

"I’m only telling because [the girls] found out yesterday in their Easter basket,” she explained on air. “They told the man behind me on the airplane, they told the people at church … The girls are so happy.” She later added, "It's the first boy grandchild on both sides."
