Back in New York City: Georgia May Jagger Is On the Move

This past summer, Georgia May Jagger left London for New York in the name of love. After years of long distance, she moved to Brooklyn with her restaurateur boyfriend, Louis Levy, leaving behind her friends, family, and her color-focused hair salon, Bleach London. Nevertheless, the self-proclaimed night owl, model, and business owner, who plans to expand her beauty boutique to L.A., feels right at home in the city that never sleeps. “I like to wake up with a bottle of Stoli and a cigarette,” she says, her cheeky gap-toothed grin confirming she’s just having a laugh. But truly, does the party ever really stop when you’re rock progeny?

For Jagger, 27, the party certainly started early. Growing up on tour with the Rolling Stones, the daughter of English frontman Mick Jagger and Texas-born model Jerry Hall, who played muse to Andy Warhol and posed for Helmut Newton, Jagger has said she remembers falling asleep after a show and waking up in a different city. Jet-setting is, quite literally, in her blood. That’s why the New York City transplant, who says she is still always running around, from fashion shows to meetings, for Bleach and her upcoming organic skin-care line, doesn’t mess around when it comes to accessories. “It’s so important for me to have a great functional bag because I basically live out of it,” she says.

Enter Givenchy’s Eden Bag, which made its debut alongside an array of flirty, floral print dresses and bold sculptural suiting on designer Clare Waight Keller’s fall-winter 2019/20 runway. “It’s so versatile,” says Jagger of the graphic new handbag, which touts the house’s iconic magnetic Double G clasp and comes in an array of sizes—small, mini, and nano—and colors, from black velvet to smooth blue, bubblegum pink python or crocodile-effect leather. “I love how it can fit everything you need for a busy day out.” The small and mini styles offer adjustable leather straps, the latter of which also features a top handle to be worn by hand, while the Eden nano’s reversible velvet and leather strap, replete with gold rings, can be belted or thrown over the shoulder. A bag like this, which fits an iPhone, a red lipstick, and little else, is essential for those hands-free kind of days and nights that, for the top model, can easily turn into early mornings at one of Levy’s Manhattan restaurants. After all, according to the Rolling Stones 1978 hit “Shattered,” life in the Big Apple is “just a cocktail party on the street.” Consider Georgia May Jagger suited up and on the scene.
